Nevada is probably one of the most overlooked states in the country. Out-of-staters know us because of Las Vegas, but know nothing about the rest of the state. Well, that’s just fine by us. We know Nevada is one of the best places to live in the nation and we’re fine with keeping that a secret! Here in Nevada, we are used to a way of living that nobody else in the country can claim. Here are 10 Nevada privileges that we absolutely love and are unique to us.
- Seeing a ghost town whenever (and wherever) we want.

This means our state is a paradise for ghost town enthusiasts and those who love exploring abandoned places. They are scattered all over the state, so no matter where you live there is always a ghost town waiting to be visited.
- Endless hot springs.
Travel Nevada/Flickr On top of boasting a massive amount of ghost towns, we are also home to more than 300 hot springs. That’s more than anywhere else in the country. Canyon hot springs, desert hot springs, mountain hot springs…you name it and we’ve got it. A once-in-a-lifetime soak is just a quick drive away.
- Sunshine all day, every day. Well, mostly…

- The darkest skies you’ll ever see.

Stargazing is pretty spectacular here in the Silver State due to an amazingly low level of light pollution. Night skies as pure as ours is a pretty rare occurrence throughout the country so we count ourselves lucky to have them here.
- Unique and otherworldly state parks.

In fact, the Silver State is home to more mountain ranges than any other state in the continental U.S. More than 300 mountain ranges can be found within our breathtaking landscapes, with at least 40 peaks exceeding 10,000 feet in elevation.
- The best food scenes.
