- Horseshoe Highway, Orcas Island
Scott Smithson / Flickr The next time you get a chance to explore the San Juan Islands, drive Mount Constitution Road and Orcas to Olga Road. This drive will take you past some of the islands’s most breathtaking spots, especially the Mount Constitution lookout.
- The Yakima River Canyon
Scott Butner / Flickr The route follows the Yakima River through a deep canyon surrounded by hills. It’s only 26 miles in length, but it’s an incredibly scenic detour from I-82.
- Spirit Lake Memorial Highway

- Spokane River Loop
Daxis / Flickr This 72-mile loop starts in the city, taking you alongside the Spokane River and Long Lake through some of the Inland Empire’s best scenery.
