Stop a moment and think. How long have you lived in New Hampshire? And how long have you spent North of the Notch? No matter your answer to the first question, the answer to the second is “not enough” – unless, of course, you’re one of the New Hampshirites lucky enough to have been born way up in Coös County. If you’re not one of the most northern region’s 33,000 residents, we promise you that a trip up north will be well worth the drive. You’ll definitely want to visit these amazing spots!

  1. Moose Alley

Flickr/Carol Vinzant The stretch of land from Pittsburg north to the Canadian border is undoubtedly the best place to spot moose in all of the Granite State. In fact, most of the best spots to find moose are in the Great North Woods. Drive carefully!

  1. Mount Washington

Flickr/Selble If you’ve spent any length of time in New Hampshire without visiting Mount Washington you’re truly missing out. The Granite State’s highest peak boats incredible views and some of the most intense weather in the world. It’s quite a hike, but you can drive or take the train up if you’re not quite in mountain-scaling condition.

  1. Lake Umbagog State Park

  1. Beaver Brook Falls

Google/Dustin Parker Beaver Brook Falls in Colebrook is one of the loveliest waterfalls in New Hampshire – and we love that you can get a great view from the parking lot, no hiking required. It’s one of the best places in New Hampshire to share the beauty of the Granite State’s nature with people who have mobility challenges.

  1. Table Rock

Flickr/Patrick This one’s not for folks afraid of heights. Table Rock has a pretty extreme drop-off to contend with, but if you can muster up the courage to climb onto it you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of Dixville Notch and beyond.

  1. The 45th Parallel

Flickr/Jimmy Emerson, DVM Head to the tiny town of Clarksville to stand on the line that marks the exact middle between the North Pole and the equator. It’s a neat thing to think about!
