Here in Buffalo, we’re lucky to be surrounded by so much natural beauty. You don’t have to go far to visit some of our area’s most famous landmarks – like Niagara Falls – and if you love a good hike or nature walk, you technically don’t even have to leave the city. These trails are a must if you love the great outdoors.
- Delaware Park Trail
Gela Malek Pour / alltrails This nice, easy 1.8-mile loop is perfect for families or beginners. Delaware Park is located in the heart of Buffalo, and it’s a popular place in the summertime.
- History Trail
Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve / alltrails This 1.3-mile trail is located in the Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve. It doesn’t get much better than enjoying a nice, easy walk alongside a lake.
- Glen Falls Trail

- Ellicott Creek Trailway
James Elliott / alltrails Popular with cyclists and walkers alike, this 7-mile path travels along Ellicott Creek. Although it’s fully paved, there are enough changes in incline to give you a great workout.
- Goat Island Scenic Walk
Sully 123 / alltrails Looking for a nice, scenic walk near Niagara Falls without having to deal with all the madness? Head to Goat Island, where this 2.7-mile trail will show you the best parts.
- Tifft Nature Preserve Trail
Evan Yokum / alltrails The Tifft Nature Preserve is a peaceful, often uncrowded area, and this 2-mile trail takes you around a lake and through some fields. Depending on when you go, you could see wildlife at every turn.
- Knox Farm Trail
