Most people don’t know there’s a stunning, sapphire quarry in Sandusky County. Tucked away in the small town of Gibsonburg, Ohio, you’ll find White Star Quarry. It’s a little-known diving resort that Ohio explorers will fall in love with. (And if you’d rather not scuba dive, you can always check out the designated swimming area in the summer months or have a picnic by the quarry.)
In the winter and early spring, the water at White Starr Quarry is jaw-dropping, deep blue and crystal clear. It’s truly gorgeous.

As the water heats up in the warmer months, the visibility decreases somewhat, due to the added nutrients.

In the summer months, there is a designated swim area and beach available to visitors for a fee.

The designated scuba diving area will bring out your adventurous side. It costs $20 per person per day.
