If you’ve booked a flight through this Midwest airport, you may want to watch where you sit.
Officials at Kansas City International have announced that the airport is currently dealing with a bed bug infestation.
The affected part of the airport seems to be the mezzanine area of Terminal B. Airport staff reported bed bugs on an fabric chair in a seating area. Unsettlingly, the chair was near several restaurants. However, officials have stated that no bedbugs were found in food preperation areas.
Pexels While officials say that the infestation was confined to this one area, bed bugs are notorious for hopping rides on unsuspecting people and their personal belongings.
With so many travelers moving through the space, it’s possible the infestation may have been spread elsewhere.

The timing isn’t great; spring break season is in full swing and thousands of people are passing through the airport every day.
The mezzanine area has now reopened, though passengers should report any further bed bugs sightings to airport staff.
