Last year, Alaska Airlines participated in the quirky holiday National Ugly Sweater Day in a truly unique way – the U.S. airline rewarded passengers who showed up to the gate sporting their ugly holiday sweaters. It was a hit, so they’re bringing the tradition back this year. Read on to see just what you’ll get from Alaska Airlines if you choose to travel in your ugliest holiday outfit this month.

However, all of this changes for National Ugly Sweater Day on December 21st, 2018. Alaska Airlines will allow flyers to board early on this day if they are celebrating the holiday by traveling in an ugly sweater.

Alaska Airlines is encouraging travelers to even share pictures of their day in their ugly sweaters, by using the hashtags #UglySweaterDay and #iFlyAlaska. The holiday fun doesn’t end here though; for the month of December, they’ll also play holiday tunes while passengers are boarding and even play free holiday movies on flights.

Would you ever wear a hideous holiday sweater if it meant it would get you priority boarding? If you participated in last year’s National Ugly Sweater Day while flying with Alaska Airlines, share your pictures with us in the comments below!
