If you’re looking to up your hiking game, consider tackling the trails in the Kisatchie National Forest. Louisiana’s only national forest is filled with trails, all ranging in difficulty and length. You’ll be hiking through some of Louisiana’s most unique terrain and the views at this particular trail are simply breathtaking.
Located in the Kisatchie National Forest, the Backbone Trail may just be the most beautiful trail in Louisiana.

The trail is roughly 7.6 miles and is rated as moderate due to the rolling hills and high ridges.
