Headed up to Caesars Head State Park to get at those incredible views from the overlook and along the trails? Be sure to stop at this often missed overlook that doesn’t have a sign. You’ll just notice as you’re driving on Geer Highway (Highway 276) a pull off parking area right on the highway where you may see a car or two.

The overlook is known as Bald Rock and is part of the Bald Rock Heritage Preserve managed by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.

What you’ll discover on the other side is amazing! (Yes, there is some unfortunate graffiti… but you can see beyond that, right?)

From Bald Rock you can see for miles and miles as you peer over Pickens and Greenville Counties.

Finding Bald Rock will be easy now that you have the inside scoop on the lack of signage. The pull off is located roadside on the way up to Caesars Head.
