More than one dozen hot air balloons rising high above your head is a spectacular sight, and this annual festival delivers every time.
Balloons Over Morgantown is an annual event in which 12 to 18 balloons are launched over the hills of Morgantown.

The event was born out of the Mountaineer Balloons Festival, which launched about 40 balloons each year. The event also included a carnival, music and entertainment. More recently the balloon launch pad was built on, leaving no safe place to launch 40 balloons.

Now, Balloons Over Morgantown continues the legacy.

The four day event begins with NightGlow, in which the balloons are inflated, but do not launch, allowing visitors to get up close and take photographs at night.
Tour Morgantown
The full event involves five launches. They can be viewed from the launch pad and around the city. Another fun activity is chasing the balloons, where you can follow the balloon from launch to landing and help pack it up.
Tour Mogantown The launches all take place at Morgantown airport, and NightGlow occurs at Morgantown Mall.
