Most Anchorage residents are familiar with Moose’s Tooth Pub & Pizzeria. If they haven’t experienced this wildly popular restaurant themselves, they’ve definitely heard of it in passing. This movie theater restaurant is actually the second passion project of the same team who opened up Moose’s Tooth, so you know it’s going to be good!

In 2000, this pizza and beer lovin’ team decided to attempt their dream project: opening a Theatrepub. They set their sights on the former Denali Theater and after a complete renovation, the Bear Tooth Theatrepub was officially born.

When it first opened, the theatrepub was simply a place where you could enjoy a delicious slice of pizza and pint of beer while watching your favorite movies. However, it wasn’t long before the theater expanded even more. A swanky little restaurant called the Bear Tooth Grill opened in the same building in August 2001.

Here you can enjoy full-fledged meals, most of which are created with an emphasis on Alaskan ingredients and Southwestern inspired fare. The Grill has a notably different feel than the theatrepub, but still feels connected.
