Cincinnati is home to quite a few museums that each offer something for everyone. You could spend several days museum-hopping around the Queen City, and one of your stops should definitely be the Behringer-Crawford Museum in Covington. This grand, historic building sits atop the hill in Devou Park and includes three stories of exhibits, hands-on experiences, and artifacts. It wonderfully shows the history of transportation in the Cincinnati area and it’s definitely worthy of a day trip.

The beautiful Behringer-Crawford Museum first opened in 1950 and mainly housed collections from world travels. Since then, it’s become a regional destination to learn about the history of our area, specifically transportation and how it’s impacted the river town of Cincinnati.

BCM adopted the transportation theme around 1980, and you’ll find many fascinating exhibits that feature the history of the rivers, roads, rails, and runways of our area. While this is the focus of the museum, you’ll also find other topics, such as immigration, tourism and entertainment, municipal and regional planning, and the local arts heritage.
