Dining in Milwaukee is never boring, but some places have more to offer than others. Not only does this spot on Old World Third Street serve up some of the most mouthwatering burgers in the city, it’s also home to some of the richest history that Brew City has to offer. This historic saloon has more than meets the eye, so let’s learn all about it:
Welcome to Buck Bradley’s!
Thomas E/TripAdvisor Not only does this bar serve up delicious food, it’s also one of the oldest buildings on Old World Third Street.
This spot is home to the longest bar east of the Mississippi, as well as some amazing history.
Brett Grady/Google Local This old building began as a furniture store in 1854. The humble shop, once called Pioneer Furniture Store, was built by German immigrants, just like many of the businesses on Old World Third Street. Buck Bradley’s has gone through many renovations and has housed everything from shoe stores to fragrance shops. It ultimately became Buck Bradley’s in 1992 and was named after the original owner’s great-great-grandson.
As for Buck Bradley’s bar, it’s the largest and longest bar in Wisconsin! It took multiple pieces that were designed especially for Buck’s and were brought in from three states to make this beautiful granite bar top.
The new owners did everything they could to keep the atmosphere authentic.
Cara Morris/Google Local The Paget family, who have since purchased the building, worked hard to recreate an old 1890s pub and eatery. With iron chandeliers and iconic cream city brick, we think they did a great job.
Let’s talk food. This saloon is a restaurant, after all!
Andrew F./Foursquare Besides the awesome building, Buck’s burgers are what truly make Milwaukeeans coming back for more. These half-pound burgers are absolutely addicting.
Just like any good Milwaukee restaurant, there’s a patio for the warm summer months.
Steve S./Foursquare Buck Bradley’s, just like the rest of Milwaukee, embraces summer in full force. Their patio is a popular spot on Old World Third, and the perfect place to enjoy a Bloody on a sunny day.
All in all, Buck Bradley’s is a Milwaukee gem that must be on your bucket list!
