Burton Island State Park is only accessible by boat. You can easily get there by taking the state’s passenger ferry from the Kamp Kill Kare State Park located at 2714 Hathaway Point Rd., St. Albans, VT 05481.
Youtube/Jery Bro The Island Runner passenger ferry takes people and bikes between Kamp Kill Kare and Burton Island several times a day. It operates from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend and takes about 10 minutes.
If you have your own boat, great! There are moorings and a marina available.

You can make a reservation up to 11 months in advance for one of their 14 campground tent sites, 26 lean-to sites or 4 remote tent sites.

There are wonderful hiking trails, and the park’s interpreter program has activities such as night hikes, nature crafts and games, campfire programs and animal explorations.
