Cindy’s Diner in northeast Indiana has been around since 1952, and it was one of the first fast-food restaurants in the city. It is known for its famous “garbage” breakfasts as well as for being a popular local hang-out.
Google/Gerald Brown This place may be tiny, but it sure knows how to survive. The restaurant was sold in 1960, at which time it was renamed Paul’s Diner. Six years later, the building was relocated and renamed Margie’s Diner. Then, in 1990, the building was restored, moved to its present location, and renamed Cindy’s.
Guests are whisked away to the 1950s from the moment they walk inside. Seating at this little diner is limited and will have you eating at the counter like in the good ol’ days.

In 1997, this iconic corner diner added the Murphy’s Dime Store Donut Machine that makes the best old-fashioned donuts you’ve ever tasted. Have some for breakfast or take them to-go for later.
