The last thing you’d expect to find in a state widely known for its desert climate is an attraction with pools filled with one million gallons of sea water, but that’s just what you’ll find at this zooquarium in Scottsdale, Arizona – and more!

The must-see oasis in the Sonoran Desert is called Dolphinaris. A magical place where you can meet and greet a friendly dolphin (or dolphins) for a once-in-a-lifetime animal enounter in the desert.

After a brief orientation, you’ll find yourself in the pool nuzzled next to an overfriendly dolphin, and maybe evening posing for a lovable dolphin kiss.

Don’t feel like getting in the water? You can still have a “land-based” dolphin encounter. Other options for dolphin encounters include a water encounter and the dolphin trainer experience.

Dolphinaris opened in late 2016 next to the OdySea Aquarium in Scottsdale. This fun family day trip comes with a price tag that is special-occasion worthy.

And during your encounter, a professional photographer will capture those incredible moments on film for forever. (You’ll have a chance to purchase a photo package upfront or select and purchase the photos before you leave.)

Editor’s Note: On May 22, 2018 Dolphinaris announced the loss of one of their dolphin family members. We are very sorry for their loss and hope, if making comments below, you will reflect the same kindness and respect you would afford anyone in time of grief.
