Festive holiday events in West Virginia probably make most people think of the Christmas lights each year at Oglebay Park, or those events taking place each year in the Greenbrier Valley. However, that’s only because most people don’t know there’s another amazing walk-through lights display that some people have called the ‘mini-Oglebay’ of West Virginia Christmas lights festivals.
It’s found at Welton Park, a small 32-acre narrow swath of land in the scenic Petersburg Gap on the banks of the Potomac River.

What began years ago as a small display set up by Grant County’s maintenance workers has blossomed into a community wide event, with volunteers helping to make the celebration bigger and better each year.
