If you think it’s stressful negotiating the long lines and crowded spaces of airports today, just wait until 2040.
The Airports Council International released a report predicting that about 20 years from now, there will be about 12.7 billion more passenger trips taken worldwide. That translates to airports that are more than twice as busy as they are today.
Unsplash The council suggested that airports today may not have the infrastructure to support such a massive surge of increased traffic.
Unsplash Most of the additional passenger journeys are predicted to come from China, as the country has some of fastest growing numbers of air passengers in the world. The top four countries with the fastest growing air travel market are Vietnam, India, Saudi Arabia, and the U.A.E. Sounds like a good reason to get into the habit of getting to the airport early.
