Fall is officially here but it doesn’t quite feel like it. According to the most recent foliage reports, leaves are experiencing little to no change. If you’re in the northernmost parts of the state, you will notice a bit of color but it’s nothing compared to what we have to look forward to. You can expect the leaves to turn within the next two weeks, with peak fall foliage from October 29 through November 9. Currently, High Point State Park and Stokes State Forest are among the best spots for a weekend foliage hike. Soon, though, much of the state will look like this:

The preserve is located in Hillsborough and offers a variety of trails within its over 3,000 acres. Native wildlife includes red fox, gray fox, deer, coyote, tanagers, wrens, and chickadees. Visit, if you can, for a hike. Another gorgeous autumn destination is the New Jersey Botanical Garden in Ringwood. Check that out in the video below, filmed by Joseph Cooper:
