First Presbyterian Church of Stamford is an example of modernist architecture at its finest. Constructed in the late 1950s, the church and its accompanying 262-foot bell tower are awe-inspiring.

Architect Wallace K. Harrison designed the sanctuary using the fish shape that is predominant in early Christianity. Approach the exterior of the church and not only is its silhouette familiar but the building appears to have scales like a fish.
