Everyone knows that Kentucky is known for Bourbon and that we even have our very own trail that will take you to several of the picturesque distilleries throughout the Bluegrass State. Some of these locations are better known than others, but they are all worthy of a visit. One particular distillery is definitely in the running as the most beautiful, thanks to its unique architecture and historic flair. This underrated bourbon destination is a beautiful retreat in Kentucky that you’ll want to pay a visit.

Four Roses Bourbon and Distillery has a lovely story and an equally lovely property to match.

Facebook/Four Roses Bourbon The iconic Four Roses Bourbon started over 130 years ago in 1884 when Paul Jones Jr. moved his business to Whiskey Row in Louisville.

The story goes that Paul Jones Jr. fell in love with a Southern belle and proposed to her through a letter.

Luckily for Jones, she arrived wearing four roses and he proved his love again by naming his other passion after his true love story. The charm and sentiment behind the name is evident in every current operation at this beautiful distillery.

Four Roses has had an interesting past, business-wise, but today it is now operated and distributed here in the United States, as well as internationally.
