The Mount Rushmore State is bursting with incredible scenery that will take your breath away. This one trail holds a lot of our state’s history, and is full of beautiful bridges. Though it may be a large trail at over a hundred miles long, you can start from various spots in the state, and no matter which section you hike, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to somewhere enchanting.
The George S. Mickelson trail was South Dakota’s first rails-to-trails project.
