Few Hoosiers have the time and energy to build an extravagant gingerbread house each Christmas, but there’s a way to enjoy them anyway. Come out to Fort Wayne’s gingerbread festival in northeast Indiana for a myriad of lovely edible displays.

The History Center is a museum that preserves artifacts relating to Fort Wayne and Allen County. It is located in a very historic building from 1893 and is host to a marvelous holiday event each year.

The Festival of Gingerbread is already in full swing, but you’ve got plenty of time to view it. It began with the lighting of downtown on November 21, 2018, though the displays were not available until November 23.

You have until December 9, 2018 to enjoy this gingerbread festival. Witness more than 100 different artistic structures made from gingerbread and icing. Each is more whimsical than the last!

In addition to the gingerbread displays, this festival will also have a special visit from Santa on December 1, 2018 between 1 and 4 p.m. The following day, holiday storytelling will keep the little ones entertained for hours.

On Saturday, December 8, a special exhibit will be available between 1 and 4 p.m. Science Central will present “Science of Sugary Structures” and allow participants to create their own structure for an additional $3.

On the final day, guests can enjoy a cookie decorating party between 1 and 4 p.m. For just $1 per person, you can decorate gingerbread cookies to eat and share.

The price to enter this gingerbread festival is the cost of admission to the museum. It is $6 for adults and $4 for seniors and children. You can check out these amazing edible creations Monday through Thursday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday between noon and 5 p.m.
