Located in the north-central region of Idaho is a town called Grangeville. Just over 3,000 people call this place home, yet you’ll find that this town is just bursting with day-trip-potential for a variety of reasons.

First off, the town contains a unique and delightful historic charm. This is a town that is still very proud of its roots. The town was initially formed back in the 1860s by prospectors and gold seekers as they crossed the Camas Prairie in their search for riches.

You’ll find that Grangeville’s downtown area is full of amazing little shops and boutiques to pass the time in. You’ll definitely want to catch a movie at the historic Blue Fox Theatre. Originally opened in 1930, this is by far one of the most historic theaters in the entire state.

Grangeville dining options may be few, but don’t be fooled. There’s plenty of good food to be found within this small town. The town is home to all sorts of nostalgic diners and cafes.

Season’s Restaurant is a favorite among locals and out-of-towners for a quick bite to eat. This place serves awesome breakfast dishes along with burgers, sandwiches, steak, and barbecue ribs for lunch and dinner.

This tiny town is actually known for one thing in particular: Grangeville Border Days. This public celebration takes place on 4th of July weekend and features a variety of family friendly activities such as art shows, parades, and the “world’s largest egg toss”. Oh, and not to mention the state’s oldest rodeo!

If you’re an outdoor lover, you definitely won’t be disappointed in the recreational activities that are to be had around Grangeville. The Clearwater, Salmon, and Snake Rivers are all in close proximity to town, making Grangeville a top tier whitewater rafting destination.
