For a truly exciting Halloween experience, there’s a creepy hike you can take in Lake County that just might spook you silly. Whether or not you like a good scare, this fun-filled family event taking place in Riverwoods will be one you never forget.

The hikes take place October 19-20, 2018 at Ryerson Woods Forest Preserve, and they depart every half an hour beginning at 6 p.m. with the last group departing at 8 p.m. In total, the journey lasts about an hour and half and covers less than two miles.

Participants will be led by a glowing trail through the woods. Along the way, guests of this Halloween hike will come across nature-themed skits that are not too scary for kids.

The walk is guided and easy to access for all ages. The Halloween hike ends at a log cabin where there will be a fire and free cider and donuts.
