Hebron is the town name and it’s known for a few things. It’s sometimes referred to as “the brick city,” because The Hebron Brick Company is located there. Hebron also has been hosting an annual Watermelon Days festival for nearly half a century.

This quiet town is still reminiscing of the past, and it is well loved that way. It was founded in 1885. There is a historic site called Fort Sauerkraut on the outskirts of the town.

Hebron is lovely to visit no matter what the occasion, just as a charming small town. You can visit it while on the Old Red Old Ten scenic byway. But if you’re specifically in the mood for watermelon, you’ll be in luck if you visit in July.

The Hebron Watermelon Days festival usually takes place the first or second weekend of July and has been happening annually for over 40 years. Throughout this fun festival you can get free slices of watermelon, but also enjoy things like a burger and bratwurst feed, turtle and rubber duck races, and a street dance.
