When the weather heats up, it’s time to find the nearest swimming hole. Take the Barton Creek Greenbelt Trail to find not one, but two different swimming holes that will make your summer complete.
The Barton Creek Greenbelt trail is just minutes from downtown Austin.
The trail is eight miles long, starting at Zilker Park and ending at Scottish Woods. You’ll find the swimming holes on the south end of the trail.

This trail is a fairly easy trek and is mostly shady, with plenty of beautiful trees. It follows right alongside Barton Creek.

When the creek is full, you’ll find several secluded little spots along the way that make perfect swimming holes. Get there early so you can claim your spot!

Twin Falls has all the amenities you’ll want in a swimming hole: a rope swing, sunning rock, and plenty of shady spots on nearby rocks to relax and enjoy a snack or nap.

A little farther down the trail, you’ll come across the second large swimming hole. Once you get a look at the unique rock formations of Sculpture Falls, you’ll see how it got its name.
