There is no doubt that island communities are special, that’s why so many vacationers head off to St. Lucia, Barbados, and Aruba each year. Sometimes we forget that we have our own little slice of paradise in Rhode Island that’s surrounded by spectacular waters and kissed by coastal breezes. This island town so close to home is one that you’ll fall in love with every time you visit.
Jamestown is almost entirely found on Conanicut Island but does also include some islands that are uninhabited. Only 9.7 square miles of the 35.3 square mile town is land. It is connected to Newport to the east and North Kingston to the west by bridges.
