We all had a favorite childhood playground, a place that let our imaginations run wild as we played. Kids in the Grand Island have that in this massive community-built playground that’s located in Stolley Park.
Kids’ Kingdom is the ultimate community project. In the early 2000s, the city asked for kids’ input on a new playground. Kids came up with the features they most wanted in the new structure.

The park was designed based on the kids’ ideas and requests, and the community set about making it a reality.

Kids’ Kingdom opened in the spring of 2003 and has been a favorite destination for area families ever since.

You’ll find all sorts of fun areas for kids, including a castle, swings, slides, a pirate ship, and an obstacle course.

There are also plenty of spots for tired parents to take a rest while the kids enjoy this massive 28,000-square-foot paradise.

And if you happen to visit Stolley Park in the summer, you can even ride the adorable little train that boards right next to the playground!

Stolley Park is located at 2103 W Stolley Park Rd, Grand Island, NE 68801. It’s open all year long. The rest of the park is an absolute treasure, too – from the gardens to the pool to the historic buildings, there’s something for the entire family to enjoy.
