Even if the calendar says spring, but the weather suggests otherwise, there is a place in Cincinnati where you’ll always find warmth and bright colors. Krohn Conservatory is a beloved destination in our city that is truly unique and inviting. While it’s open all year long, Krohn is probably best known for its seasonal spring show, which is always centered around the beautiful butterfly. The showroom is filled with thousands of butterflies, and you can walk amongst them in this magical butterfly house that would make a great day trip this spring in Cincinnati.
Krohn Conservatory is located within historic Eden Park, just minutes from downtown Cincinnati.

With spring comes the popular Butterfly Show, and each year has a different theme.

The gardens of the show are specifically chosen and planted to represent the natural beauty of Madagascar.
Andrea Limke/Only In Your State Known as the “Island of Rainbows,” Madagascar is an African country that is filled with vibrant colors, plant life, and wildlife. That vibrancy is represented in this year’s show.
The butterflies love the colors, as well!

When you enter the show, you’ll be overwhelmed by the color and scenery.

While it’s not encouraged for you to reach out and grab at or pick up the butterflies, Krohn provides different ways for you to get up close to them.

Of course, they are going to land where they like, so there is still a very good chance a few will say hello from your shoulder or leg.

As you exit the Butterfly Show and are looked over to make sure none of them are trying to come home with you, you’ll definitely recognize that this is one of the most unique experiences in Cincinnati.
