Calling all Western New Yorkers or anyone willing to take a road trip, this post is for you! This month we’ve been talking about how Rochester’s 120th Lilac Festival is a must-see this year, going on until May 20th. But if you’ve already crossed that scenic event off of your bucket list, then it’s time to head an hour south to the small town of Castile to pay one of our favorite state parks a visit this Memorial Day Weekend.
Known for being one of the best state parks in New York, from May 25th through May 28th this year Letchworth State Park will be the host of the 17th annual Red, White & Blue Balloon Rally.

Put together by Balloons Over Letchworth, this hot-air balloon company is the only one allowed to launch out of the state park - providing a one-of-a-kind experience.

Gather in the Archery Field just north of the Glen Iris Inn and you can see roughly 30 hot air balloons prepare to take off into the state park.
