City living along the waterfront gives us some pretty unique scenery here in Buffalo, but during the fall we often find ourselves seeking out more rural views so we can enjoy things like the season’s stunning colors. Giving you a look at a never-ending sea of autumn’s warm tones, there’s a scenic overlook that’s only a quick drive from the Queen City and it just so happens to be in one of the country’s best state parks. Pack your bags, because it’s time for a road trip!
One of the most jaw-dropping places to visit during this time of year, Letchworth State Park is just over an hour outside of Buffalo and is known for being one of the country’s best state parks.

With over 60 miles of hiking trails inside this 14,000-acre state park, there are so many breathtaking views to be experienced.

But one place in the park is considered to be more stunning than all the rest: Inspiration Point.

Looking upstream from this central point in the park, you’ll see the 107-foot Middle Falls with the Upper Falls and new arch bridge as a marvelous backdrop.

Just off of Park Road and across from The Stone House, you’ll find a sizeable parking lot and pathway leading you to Inspiration Point.

This easy walk is particularly stunning in the fall, as you’ll have sweeping views of one of New York’s best state parks and the fantastic foliage within.
