At first glance, a bridge may seem like your run-of-the-mill piece of architecture, but if you sit down to think about it (if you are into that sort of thing), they are actually poetic, as bridges can transport you from one world to another. I know, my thoughts are cheesy and far-reaching, but I can’t help but feel this way whenever I see this charming Colorado footbridge that everyone should visit:

As if the surrounding colors were not reason enough to visit, the town of Nederland (which promises that “Life Is Better Up Here”) is a gem all on its own, as it is home to one-of-a-kind restaurants, uniquely repurposed buildings, and our personal favorite…

While the bridge may appear to have been built around the time of the town’s inception, it is actually somewhat new, as it only came to be in 1988.

The 22-foot-long Middle Boulder Creek Covered Bridge is located along Bridge Road (also State Route 119) and can be crossed year round.
