Take a time capsule all the way back to the late ’50s, ’60s, the early ’70s to a time when foil artificial trees adorned living rooms all over the Tar Heel State.

Several years ago, the Transylvania Heritage Museum began displaying the aluminum trees belonging to a local resident who’d collected too many over the years to display in his own home. The annual “Aluminum Christmas Tree Musuem” is a must-see for anyone who grew up in the ’60s or ’70s.
