Mowry Conservation Area In Rhode Island Is A Must Visit Hiking Spot

Not every hike you take has to be a three-hour trek through the woods. There are some great trails in Rhode Island that take under an hour to explore. The Mowry Conservation Area boasts a quaint little walk through the woods that is perfect for a short stroll when you need a break from it all.

The Mowry Conservation Area is a 44-acre retreat in Smithfield. The woodland oasis was given to the town by S. Burton and Mary Mowry.

You’ll discover two short trails that are absolutely picturesque. The shorter orange-blazed trail loops through towering hemlocks and pines in a shady paradise. From this trail, you can access the longer yellow-blazed path that runs up a ridge and ends at an old dam. Combine the two trails to make a journey that is just over one mile.
