Eureka Springs has already thoroughly spoiled Arkansans with a smorgasbord of unique attractions and hidden features. Mud Street Cafe’s newest addition, the Mud Street Annex features its own underground secret. The underground spring flowing beneath the restaurant is quite the sight to see.

Most Arkansans already know and love Mud Street Cafe.

TripAdvisor/Michelle B Eureka Springs’ beloved underground cafe is a must-stop for visitors and a favorite for locals. You can find the stairs that go down to it at 22 S Main St. G, Eureka Springs, AR 72632.

If it’s been a bit since you’ve visited Arkansas’ most artistic city, then you may not have seen their newest addition.

Facebook/Mud Street Annex The Mud Street Annex opened next door late last year. The annex is above ground but has its own underground secret.

Instead of the antique chic feel, like the original cafe, the annex is a fresh mix of classic and modern decor.

Facebook/Mud Street Annex The local art pairs nicely with the vintage “Home of the Ozarka Water” neon sign.

Both places serve some of the best breakfast in town.

Google/Matthew Francis Veggie-smothered hash browns, flaky croissant sandwiches, and wraps are just some of the mouthwatering options.

And don’t get us started on their dessert selection.

Facebook/Mud Street Annex No matter if you pick from their fresh cakes and pies, or stick with the Almond Joy mocha with heaping mountains of cream, your sweet tooth will be in heaven.

Unless you know to look for it, you wouldn’t notice the cafe’s most notable feature.

Facebook/Mud Street Annex After all, it’s hard to look beyond the delicious food in front of you.

Running through the middle of the annex is an underground spring.

Facebook/Mud Street Annex The water feature is 20-ft. down but is illuminated with LED lighting.

Here’s a quick snip-it of the flowing spring:
