We love Rhode Island’s charming little towns, and there are certainly plenty of them in the Ocean State. Here’s a quaint little town with plenty of history, and once you visit, it will steal your heart forever.

The town of North Kingstown has around 23,000 residents, but its Historic Wickford Village has a charming, small town vibe that can’t be beat.

This quaint village was formed in 1779, and today it’s full of historic homes, antique shops, galleries, cafes and more.

The village is also the birthplace of one of America’s most oft-seen but least known artists. Gilbert Stuart was born on this little farm in 1755. His portrait of George Washington is featured on the $1 bill. You can tour the home, built in 1750.

The Old Narragansett Church was built in 1707, and was moved to its current location in 1800. It contains one the oldest organs in the U.S..
