One of these beloved traditions that you may have not heard of yet is the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree Grove which takes place in Sonoma County every year. This magical event combines beloved holiday characters with dozens upon dozens of fantastically decorated trees. It’s truly a sight to see and you’ll want to plan on visiting it this year. Located in the charming town of Windsor is an annual holiday event that people travel from far and wide to see—The Charlie Brown Christmas Tree Grove.

The grove is set up every year on the Windsor Town Green, a premier central gathering place for locals and visitors alike. Through the month of December, this area takes on an entirely new personality, one that is filled with holiday cheer.

Starting on December 6th and going through January 1st, the Green will host 200 beautifully decorated Christmas trees. These dazzling holiday trees will line the walkways, creating a picture perfect scene that looks straight off of a Christmas-themed postcard.

The grove of trees is truly a community effort. Students, families, groups, and local businesses all showcase their talents by desiging and decorating the trees themselves. Each one has something unique and different to offer.

On the first Thursday of December, the trees will light up for the first time. This night is a highlight of the month-long event and features performances by local youth, live music, photos with Santa, wagon and train rides, and so much more. Food and drinks will also be available.

However, the magic doesn’t end there. Every night, snow will fall at 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm, creating a true winter wonderland that we don’t see very often in this region of California!
