Boulder Junction is a small town with fewer than 1,000 people way, way up north. It’s just miles from the Upper Peninsula and it’s tucked in among a ton of small lakes. It’s a true Northwoods town, but sometimes, when you look at the pictures here, it’s easy to imagine you’re somewhere totally different. We don’t have much in the way of elevation or hills here, but with the towering trees and epic forest, along with small, reflective lakes and abundant wildlife, it doesn’t take much to imagine that Boulder Junction is actually somewhere a bit more west....

Just south of Madison in Stoughton, there’s a family-owned bakery that’s been serving the community for 80 years. Fosdal Home Bakery is an icon among Wisconsin bakeries. They’ve been named Bakery of the Year by the Wisconsin Bakers Association and their owner is enshrined in the Wisconsin Baking Hall of Fame. A charming mix of old school and modern, this place has been delighting locals with sweet treats across multiple generations....

Here in Nebraska, the cool, calm days of fall usually don’t stick around long. Our summers tend to run long and our winters often arrive early, so you’ve got to take advantage of the mild temperatures while you can. There’s no better place to spend a fall day than out on the lake, and this lake in Antelope County is just calling your name. Grove Lake Wildlife Management Area is located just north of Royal, Nebraska....

Summertime is almost here, and a-camping we will go! There are tons of great campgrounds to put your tent up on in the 716, but some stand out from the crowd. Pack up your pic-a-nic baskets and head south to find this gem of a spot. This waterpark campground near Buffalo belongs at the top of your summer bucket list.
