Though the Hawaiian Islands are small in terms of landmass, the islands feel huge as soon as you consider the countless restaurant options found across the state. And while there are certain roadside restaurants you won’t regret stopping at if you’re in the area, there are others that are so worth the drive to get to. Today, we’re featuring an eatery that people drive from all across the island of Oahu to enjoy, and we bet you know what spot we’re talking about.

Welcome to Ted’s Bakery, an incredible food truck nestled on Oahu’s north shore that is famous not only for their mouthwatering cream pies but other bakery items as well as to-die-for plate lunches.

What began as a small grocery store near Sunset Beach in 1956 has become a household name throughout Hawaii. Ted’s Bakery was officially born in 1987, but it wasn’t until 1996 that its cream pies were wholesaled to stores and supermarkets across the island, and even later that the small bakery expanded to become a full-service eatery.

Here you will find an impressive selection of pies, cakes, pastries, and bread. While their chocolate haupia pie is the most famous, they actually have nineteen other pies on their menu.

But that’s not all Ted’s Bakery does — they also serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner food. Some of the most popular dishes include garlic shrimp, loco moco, and the fried rice special.

You’ll find hamburgers and a variety of sandwiches on the lunch and dinner menu, but we think a classic Hawaiian plate lunch is the way to go.

While you can find Ted’s pies across the Hawaiian Islands at a variety of grocery stores across the islands, you really must visit their eatery near Sunset Beach as often as you can. In addition to a slice (or five) of mouthwatering pie, you’ll enjoy a scrumptious hot meal whether you visit for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
