When it comes to beautiful landscape, New Hampshire’s the place to be! From emerald green lakes to waterfall hikes, we’re lucky to spend our days in a state that’s got an outdoor endeavor for just about everyone. While we’d like to explore every nook and cranny we can find, let’s be totally honest: There are days when the idea of strapping on hiking boots feels a little daunting. Those are the days it’s easy to stay inside. But, next time you’re facing the possibility of giving up and watching TV, try this short and easy hike in New Hampshire instead! It’s big on fun, but low on mileage!
The views from the top of Pitcher Mountain might make you think the folks at the top had spent the better part of the day on a slow ascent.

While it’s true the the sight is impressive, the reality involves significantly less blood, sweat and tears than you might imagine.

The mountain is located in the Andorra Forest in the southwestern part of the state and on a clear day you can see as far as the White Mountains, Mt. Washington and Mt. Lafayette.

The hike is marked by white blazes and begins from a parking lot on Rt. 123. The entirety of the easy and accessible hike is about .6 miles and should take you around 15-minutes. However, there’s a very subtle incline that might be noticeable for some people.

Summer! Heading to Pitcher Mountain in August means copious amounts of blueberries alongside the trail. The presence of the berries will probably add some time to your hike as it’s impossible to simply pass them by.
