Hiding out in southeast Colorado is that of Rocky Ford, which is deservingly nicknamed the “The Sweet Melon Capital of the World.”

Once home to the Ute and Kiowa tribes, Rocky Ford was incorporated in 1887 as a place for farmers to come together and grow fresh produce.

Not much has changed in the last 100-some years, as Rocky Ford still boasts a strong agriculture scene dominated by some of the juiciest and most delicious cantaloupe and watermelon you will ever try.
