Sanctuary Dairy Farm in Sunapee is an absolutely lovely farm that’s been in the same family for 10 generations. It’s the youngest generation that got the family into ice cream production, though – then-9-year-old Beck insisted, and his family obliged by turning an old sheep barn into a scoop shop.

The ice cream they make is absolutely scrumptious, and crafted from the farm’s cream as well as fruits from other local farms. With flavors ranging from cherry dark chocolate chip to chocolate peanut butter on the menu, everyone is sure to be satisfied with their scoop. And this is very environmentally friendly ice cream – the scoop shop and farm stand are totally solar powered!

Of course, while you’re at the farm you’ll want to check out the whole operation. It’s a serious working dairy farm, but they also have a bunch of barnyard critters that you’re welcome to meet.
