Maximize on your views of the stunning fall foliage in Vermont by taking this easy hike that leads to an unbelievably colorful overlook. Climbing Snake Mountain is not nearly as daunting as it sounds. This trail is perfect for low-key hikers who are seeking breathtaking views without all the huffing and puffing of a more strenuous climb.
Snake Mountain is surrounded by the Champlain Valley. Its peak at 1,287 feet is short in comparison to others, but don’t underestimate the views from the top.

Find the trailhead across from the parking lot on Mountain Road in Addison. The 4.1 mile trek through the colorful canopy is just a bit more difficult than a gentle walk in the woods.

The summit of Snake Mountain was once the site of the Grandview Hotel built in the 1870s. Though the hotel burned down, it’s foundation still remains as a viewing platform at the end of the trail.
