West Virginia has many winter resorts that are either closed or have limited activities in the summer. Except for this one.
Snowshoe Resort is known primarily as a ski resort, but few people realize that it is just as active in the summertime, offering a variety of activities to choose from.

The trails running along the mountain are especially fun for hikers and bikers in the summer, since they don’t see much use in the winter months. The park has nearly 40 trails, which have a vertical descent of roughly 1,500 feet. ATV riding is also popular along the trails.

Zip lining is another fun activity to engage in, as long as heights don’t bother you. You can also go horse riding, play golf and or enjoy a good campfire meal with Shindig on the Shore.

There is even a beach that you can enjoy just as a place to relax and take a dip. The Beach sits on Shavers Lake, which offers boating and other activities in certain areas. It even has a small water park.
