South Side Soda Shop has been in business since 1986 though the building it is in has been around much longer. This family-owned, 1950s-themed joint is timeless and extremely popular due to its feature on Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.”

Most of this old-fashioned restaurant is situated in a building from the early 1900s that began as a store in 1910. A soda fountain was added in the 1940s, and in the 1980s, it was restored to what it is today.
