Apparently Hollywood once thought that St. Helens, Oregon was pretty picturesque – it was briefly famous as the charming setting for a Halloween movie.
During the summer of 1998, the quiet little town of St. Helens, Oregon became a bustling, busy place, filled with Hollywood set designers, makeup artists, and actors.

The Disney film, Halloweentown was filmed here, and the production company transformed the already-charming town into a quaint Halloween-themed hamlet.

Because the movie was actually filmed during the summer, the film crew had to cover up the green grass and paint many of the leaves on the trees in autumn colors.
