Stilt House/Facebook In the early 1900s, Stilt House was a tavern called Nick Schuh Tavern. The owner, Nick Schuh, wanted to build a second floor on the building but the permission was denied. Instead, he put the building on top of “stilts” and built underneath.
The current owner of Stilt House has Milwaukee roots.
Stilt House/Facebook Gordon Goggin is no newbie to the restaurant industry. He was recently the director of operations for The Lowlands Restaurant Group, which owns Milwaukee favorites like Cafe Hollander and Grand Cafe Benelux.
