The giant sequoias at Calaveras Big Trees State Park are one of the state’s old tourist attractions. These awe-inspiring trees are considered the largest trees on earth, and at more than 2,000 years old, they are some of the oldest as well! Seeing these trees should be a bucket list item for everyone but especially during December when you can take a horse drawn carriage ride through them.
