Cincinnati is made up of many neighborhoods that each seem to have a life of their own. Several of these have a charming town square, park, or “downtown,” where you’ll find shops, restaurants, events, and during the holidays, plenty of Christmas cheer. If you want to feel extra festive over the next few weeks, check out these eight town squares in Cincinnati that are decked out for the holidays.
- Lebanon
Facebook/City of Lebanon, Ohio North of Cincinnati, historic downtown Lebanon is one of the best city centers to visit during the holidays. The storefronts are illuminated, the street is lined with lights, and there are decorated trees scattered about. The city also hosts the popular horse parade at the beginning of December, which adds even more festive fun.
- Hyde Park Square

The Square itself is enchanting with lights and there are plenty of restaurants and shops to visit while you take it all in. Grab an ice cream come from Graeters and stroll around in this festive atmosphere.
- Wyoming
Facebook/Wyoming Ohio Wyoming also hosts a holiday event each year, and the main section of the neighborhood remains illuminated all season. Also with incredible restaurants nearby, there’s more and more to do in Wyoming each year, making it a wonderfully festive place to be.
- Washington Park
Facebook/The City Flea Washington Park has become a sort of town square for OTR and it’s incredibly festive this time of year. Strands of lights hang from the gazebo and glowing trees line the walkways around the park and in front of Music Hall. The park also hosts many events throughout the season, and you can catch a performance of The Nutcracker at Music Hall.
- Mt. Healthy
Facebook/Christmas in Mt. Healthy 2018 In the heart of Mt. Healthy, along Hamilton Avenue, the main feature during the holidays is the Nativity on the lawn of Paul R. Young Funeral Home. The city also celebrates with festive events and beautiful decorations along the main business district.
- Oakley
Facebook/Oakley 45209 Oakley is another Cincinnati neighborhood that goes all out for the holidays. The square on Madison is lined with illuminated trees, perfect for strolling through and stopping in one of the restaurants, toy stores, bookstores, and more.
- Cheviot
Facebook/City of Cheviot Cheviot may not have an official town square, but if you drive along Harrison Avenue through the heart of Cheviot, you can’t help but be charmed by the nostalgic decorations. There is also a Nativity each year in front of the AutoZone, which is worth a visit.
- Fountain Square
Facebook/The Westin Cincinnati Of course, we had to include Cincinnati’s most well-known square - Fountain Square. The center of downtown may be the most festive place in our city with a gigantic tree, an abundance of lights, an ice skating rink, live music, and much more.
Cincinnati and all of its neighborhoods and suburbs are wonderful any time of year, but many of them are extra festive and decked out during the holiday season.
